Permissions Manager is a software supplies GUI to manage security settings of files and folders. This GUI is quite different than generic Windows security dialog. It allows creating predefined sets of access control entries (presets) and applying these presets to file system objects. With Permissions Manager user does not need to pick up security principals from the list to assign security settings for a file or folder. It is enough to compose a preset only once and then apply it with a single click.
Normally XP Home does not have permissions editor (like Windows XP Pro), so user have to use console tool cacls.exe. Permissions Manager supplies generic security control dialog (as an option) also.
Permissions manager is implemented as shell extension. This allows to put "Security"/"Easy Security" property page to "Properties" page of any object shell interacts with.

Emsa DLL Register Tool is a multipurpose DLL information & registration tool for Windows. We made this program because we could not find other tools of this type to be comprehensive enough. This program provides extensive information about system files and other binary files, like exe, dll, and ocx files for example. It also provides ActiveX information for ActiveX components like .ocx files and ActiveX exe or ActiveX dll files. Using this tool, you may register/unregister ActiveX dll/ocx/exe files, and you may also compare two ActiveX files having identical filenames.
This program also provides a very handy function, which can be used to easily register and unregister ActiveX files - Shell extensions. If shell extensions are enabled (look for it in the Options and Help tab), user may right click on any dll or ocx file and select an option from the context menu (register/unregister) to perform the corresponding action.
Another neat feature of the same Shell extensions capability, is the ability to generate an ActiveX report on a folder. To do this, first of all make sure that Shell extensions are enabled within the program, then close it (Shell extensions do work even if the program is closed). Then, you may select a folder at any time, right click on it and from the drop down menu select ActiveX Report. This will scan the folder for ActiveX files, and a text file (output.txt) containing the report will be generated in the same folder, and it will also be opened automatically for viewing.

With Folder Crypt you can password protect any Windows folder using low level encoding and standard algorithms, such as such as DES, Rijndael, Blowfish and ARC4 with keys up to 2048 bits. The program performs a true bit per bit encryption of your data. All you have to do is to supply a password or passphrase, which will be turned into a strong password by an hashing function. The encryption process is not reversible (you can decrypt the folder only if you know the correct passphrase). Your encrypted folder will appear as a .crypt file in place of the original folder. Original files and folders may be shredded. Opening, editing and listing folder contents is password protected. Full international characters support. |
