The CreditCard Validator will help you tell:
1. if a credit card number is valid,
2. which credit card vendor handles that number.
It is a simple Applet to demonstrate the use of the ValidateCreditCard class.
It validates the prefix and the checkdigit. It does *not* contact the credit card company to ensure that number has actually been issued and that the account is in good standing.
It will also tell you which of the following credit card companies issued the card: Amex, Diners Club, Carte Blanche, Discover, enRoute, JCB, MasterCard or Visa.
ATM cards use a different secret scheme which this program does not handle. Unfortunately, there is not even a reliable way to tell an ATM card from a credit card just by the number.
It is primarily designed to be included in your own Java program, though it can be used standalone or as an Applet.
To install, Extract the zip download with WinZip, available from http://www.winzip.com (or similar unzip utility) into any directory you please, often C:\ -- ticking off the (user folder names) option. To run as an application, type:
java -jar C:\com\mindprod\creditcard\creditcard.jar
adjusting as necessary to account for where the jar file is.
You must have Java version 1.1 or later installed to use this package.

Recovery Toolbox for Zip was created to help users solve the zip recovery issues and always have control of their archived data. Recovery Toolbox for Zip is able to:
- Repair encrypted data from ZIP archives
- Repair self-extracting (SFX) files
- Repair ZIP files larger than 2 GB
- Restore ZIP files from damaged media (floppy disks, CDs, DVDs, Zip drives, etc.)
- Check file integrity
- Repair corrupted ZIP archives on the local area network
- Fix the Cannot open file: it does not appear to be a valid archive in ZIP archive error
One of the fundamental concepts embodied in Recovery Toolbox for Zip is the simplicity of use. Its wizard-driven, intuitive interface makes the process of corrupt zip repair a task literally anyone can perform.
While being a convenient, efficient and habitual method of storing and archiving information, ZIP files can sometimes be a real pain in the neck and a problem that can jeopardize the completion of urgent tasks. A significant fraction of files downloaded from the Internet are compressed into ZIP archives for traffic-saving purposes, which is an obviously positive fact.
